...when commenting on pieces of art.
Though this is more personal, I've also seen many artists also say this. BUT there are some who wouldn't mind as well.
So this is more to let it be known!
Many artists, including myself, don't like it when either our art is compared to other art/movies/characters OR if you say a specific character is yourself.
I take less offense to "this reminds me of this other character..." and more annoyance to "this looks like my character/this character is me/-starts talking about their own character/themselves"
When it comes to people saying a character reminds them of a different character or show, it COULD give me a chance to find something new to watch/look into. I mainly get annoyed if that's ALL they say (so please try to say more than that!). But I understand why some artists will see a whole comment as rude if they are compared in any way at all. They feel like they aren't original, or as if it's accusatory (even when not) or other reasons. I don't fee
